A Hindu woman was raped at gunpoint by entering the house
In Natore's Singra, a complaint has been made against Rabiul Islam, a neighboring youth, of forcibly raping a housewife. It is reported that the Hindu woman was forcibly raped at gunpoint by entering the house while her husband was fishing early on Wednesday morning.
The accused rapist is the son of deceased Fazlu Biswas of Chhota Chowgram. The youth is on the run since the incident.
Dharshita's husband said, like every day, he goes fishing at the bank near the house around 1 am. On this occasion, Rabiul Islam, a neighbor, entered the house through the railing of his house, turned off the electric light, and threatened him with a weapon. Even many pleas and cries of my baby daughter could not stop her raping. Later, he threatened to kill if anyone found out about this and left on Friday night to meet his demands once more. In the morning, when my wife (raped woman) told the matter to a neighbor, she said that with their advice and cooperation, she filed a written complaint at the police station.
Chan Mohan Halder, president of Singra Upazila Puja Udjakar Parishad, said that those who are involved in such crimes are the eternal enemies of this society and nation. He demanded exemplary punishment for those involved.
Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Sumi Akhtar expressed concern about the rape and said that the images of women torture and rape in the upazila are sent to the district every month from her office. They hold awareness yard meetings only with women. Here the women who are being abused and raped by the men have nothing to do with the men.
Singra Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Akbar Ali said, after learning about the incident, a rape case was taken from the victim's family. Various evidences of rape have been collected. A medical examination of the victim was conducted on Thursday morning.
It is to be noted that earlier on September 18, another 28-year-old housewife was gang-raped in a house in Bara Chowgram of the same union and later taken from there and gang-raped in a workshop next to Chowgram Union Parishad. When the incident came to light, police conducted a raid and arrested six youths including the joint convener of the accused Union Youth Dal, Nazmul Ali Mandal and sent them to jail.
