Lakshmipur statue vandalized by instigation of children
An idol was vandalized in the Durga Puja Mandap of a house in Lakshmipur's Ramganj. Four children are being interrogated at the police station in this incident. The incident took place in Changirgaon village of the upazila on Friday (September 20) afternoon.
Lakshmipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Akhtar Hossain said, "On receiving the news, the incident site has been visited.
We spoke to eyewitnesses. They saw the children coming out after the vandalism. Four children are being talked to for this. Their parents are also there.
But for what reason, on whose fuel this incident happened, it is being investigated.
Shikha Rani De and Wasima Rani De of Ramcharan De said that 7-8 young boys came to the pujamandap of their house during the incident. At that time they pushed the 2 idols left to dry and vandalized them.
After receiving the news SP Md. Aktar Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Dutta, Ramganj Upazila Executive Officer Mamun, Ramganj Thana OC Mohammad Solaiman, Upazila Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council President Apoorba Kumar Saha, Upazila Puja Celebration Committee President Sameer Saha and many others came to the spot.

Mohammad Solaiman, OC of Ramganj police station, said that those who are being interrogated in this incident are between 8 and 12 years old. Leaders of the Hindu community along with the puja celebration committee came to the police station. They don't want to file a case in this regard.
When asked, Shimul Saha, President of Bangladesh Jubo Oikya Parishad, said, "Idols were vandalized by attacking children in Ramganj. We learned that they did this in the hope of being rewarded.
Who is involved behind this, who is the fuel provider should be quickly found out and brought under the law.
