Allegations of vandalizing temple idols in Pabna, Bangladesh 




It has been alleged that three idols were vandalized in the dark of night at Sri Sri Bhadra Kalimata Temple in Handyal Paschimpara of Chatmohar Upazila in Pabna. This incident happened sometime on Monday night. Police and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) visited the spot on Tuesday morning after receiving the information



Kutishwar Dev, general secretary of the temple committee, said, "On Monday night, the window grill was cut from the outside without being able to break the lock of the temple. After that three idols along with Mahadev were vandalized by something like shabal or iron rod. In the morning the worshipers of the temple

Seeing the vandalism of the idol informed me.


Kutishwar Dev also said, "Durga Puja will be stopped if necessary if the culprits are not given exemplary punishment."



Meanwhile, Ashok Chakraborty, president of Chatmohar Puja Udyapan Parishad, demanded exemplary punishment to find those involved in this incident.


Chatmohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salim Reza said, "The case is under process. No concession will be made to the saboteur.'
